{"id":"UBUNTU-CVE-2025-50200","details":"RabbitMQ is a messaging and streaming broker. In versions 3.13.7 and prior, RabbitMQ is logging authorization headers in plaintext encoded in base64. When querying RabbitMQ api with HTTP/s with basic authentication it creates logs with all headers in request, including authorization headers which show base64 encoded username:password. This is easy to decode and afterwards could be used to obtain control to the system depending on credentials. This issue has been patched in version 4.0.8.","modified":"2026-02-04T03:58:56.520354Z","published":"2025-06-19T17:15:00Z","withdrawn":"2026-01-20T05:33:08Z","related":["USN-7763-1"],"upstream":["CVE-2025-50200"],"references":[{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://ubuntu.com/security/CVE-2025-50200"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://www.cve.org/CVERecord?id=CVE-2025-50200"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://github.com/rabbitmq/rabbitmq-server/security/advisories/GHSA-gh3x-4x42-fvq8"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-7763-1"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"rabbitmq-server","ecosystem":"Ubuntu:25.04","purl":"pkg:deb/ubuntu/rabbitmq-server@4.0.5-2ubuntu2.1?arch=source&distro=plucky"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"4.0.5-2ubuntu2.1"}]}],"versions":["3.12.1-1ubuntu2","4.0.5-2ubuntu1","4.0.5-2ubuntu2"],"ecosystem_specific":{"availability":"No subscription required","binaries":[{"binary_name":"rabbitmq-server","binary_version":"4.0.5-2ubuntu2.1"}]},"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/canonical/ubuntu-security-notices/blob/main/osv/cve/2025/UBUNTU-CVE-2025-50200.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.3","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V4","score":"CVSS:4.0/AV:L/AC:L/AT:N/PR:H/UI:N/VC:H/VI:N/VA:N/SC:N/SI:N/SA:N"},{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N"},{"type":"Ubuntu","score":"medium"}]}
