{"id":"OESA-2026-4689","summary":"rpcbind security update","details":"The  utility is a server that converts RPC program  numbers into universal addresses. It must be running on the  host to be able to make RPC calls on a server on that machine.\r\n\r\nSecurity Fix(es):\n\nA flaw was found in rpcbind. This vulnerability allows a remote, unauthenticated attacker to cause a Denial of Service (DoS) by sending a large number of unique requests. The rpcbind service records previously unseen RPC (Remote Procedure Call) statistics in unbounded in-memory lists, leading to persistent memory growth and increased CPU usage. This can degrade or exhaust service availability.(CVE-2026-94640)","modified":"2026-11-04T14:00:03.774457387Z","published":"2026-11-04T13:54:31Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-94640"],"database_specific":{"severity":"High"},"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://www.openeuler.org/zh/security/security-bulletins/detail/?id=openEuler-SA-2026-4689"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-94640"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"rpcbind","ecosystem":"openEuler:24.03-LTS-SP4","purl":"pkg:rpm/openEuler/rpcbind&distro=openEuler-24.03-LTS-SP4"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{"noarch":["rpcbind-help-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.noarch.rpm"],"src":["rpcbind-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.src.rpm"],"x86_64":["rpcbind-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.x86_64.rpm","rpcbind-debuginfo-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.x86_64.rpm","rpcbind-debugsource-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.x86_64.rpm"],"aarch64":["rpcbind-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.aarch64.rpm","rpcbind-debuginfo-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.aarch64.rpm","rpcbind-debugsource-1.2.6-9.oe2403sp4.aarch64.rpm"]},"database_specific":{"source":"https://repo.openeuler.org/security/data/osv/OESA-2026-4689.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.2","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}
