{"id":"MGASA-2021-0266","summary":"Updated python-eventlet packages fix security vulnerability","details":"Updated python-eventlet packages fix a security vulnerability:\n\nEventlet is a concurrent networking library for Python. A websocket\npeer may exhaust memory on Eventlet side by sending very large websocket\nframes. Malicious peer may exhaust memory on Eventlet side by sending\nhighly compressed data frame. A patch in version 0.31.0 restricts websocket\nframe to reasonable limits. As a workaround, restricting memory usage via\nOS limits would help against overall machine exhaustion, but there is no\nworkaround to protect Eventlet process (CVE-2021-21419).\n","modified":"2026-02-04T03:00:58.562082Z","published":"2021-06-18T19:24:28Z","related":["CVE-2021-21419"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2021-0266.html"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://bugs.mageia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=29009"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://ubuntu.com/security/notices/USN-4956-1"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/package-announce@lists.fedoraproject.org/thread/2WJFSBPLCNSZNHYQC4QDRDFRTEZRMD2L/"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"python-eventlet","ecosystem":"Mageia:7","purl":"pkg:rpm/mageia/python-eventlet?arch=source&distro=mageia-7"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"0.24.1-1.1.mga7"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{"section":"core"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2021-0266.json"}},{"package":{"name":"python-eventlet","ecosystem":"Mageia:8","purl":"pkg:rpm/mageia/python-eventlet?arch=source&distro=mageia-8"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"0.31.0-1.mga8"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{"section":"core"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2021-0266.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.3","credits":[{"name":"Mageia","contact":["https://wiki.mageia.org/en/Packages_Security_Team"],"type":"COORDINATOR"}]}
