{"id":"MAL-2026-13563","summary":"Malicious code in dolyame-ui-controlgroup (npm)","details":"\n---\n_-= Per source details. Do not edit below this line.=-_\n\n## Source: amazon-inspector (099af2a758510302726d266aeefb46cb91473a6a42c9484e068f465ea1509e84)\nOn require() of dolyame-ui-controlgroup, _compat.js selects a per-OS/arch URL and downloads a native binary from string-split-obfuscated hostnames (oob-worker.cf99-9b3.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf103-070.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf101-adf.workers.dev) with a DNS-over-TXT fallback under sdk.dl.wel1.ru, writes it to a temp file with a hidden/randomized name (dotnet-diag-lookalike), chmods 0755, and spawns it detached via `/bin/sh -c` or `cmd.exe /c start /b`. The declared main lib/telemetry.js duplicates the dropper via a base64-decoded buffer written to disk, chmod 755, and `/bin/sh -c` spawn, so the payload fires from the main module even if the _compat require is removed. Hostnames and dangerous API identifiers (`child_process`, `chmodSync`) are assembled at runtime via `.join(\"\")` and dynamic property access to evade string search. The download hosts, endpoints, and destination filenames are unrelated to the package's advertised monitoring/observability purpose.\n","modified":"2026-08-07T13:20:34.090086411Z","published":"2026-08-07T12:31:35Z","database_specific":{"malicious-packages-origins":[{"versions":["35.8.1"],"id":"IN-MAL-2026-017016","import_time":"2026-08-07T12:51:22.32554659Z","modified_time":"2026-08-07T12:31:35Z","sha256":"099af2a758510302726d266aeefb46cb91473a6a42c9484e068f465ea1509e84","source":"amazon-inspector"}]},"references":[{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://www.npmjs.com/package/dolyame-ui-controlgroup/v/35.8.1"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"dolyame-ui-controlgroup","ecosystem":"npm","purl":"pkg:npm/dolyame-ui-controlgroup"},"versions":["35.8.1"],"database_specific":{"indicators":{"evidence_files":[{"path":"_compat.js","sha256":"c6334ae01162108561db1d07e3ab70b92707b594938557490279921011409989","tlsh":"00a1b76915fa30180392e5d4811f6816719af6937284d898fb4ca6d84fd7678c3f3afc"},{"path":"lib/telemetry.js","sha256":"758f1a00e5a85560cd74c2138543a7a043cb8d3c6e112bb9a33e58bd1740ccfa","tlsh":"16733f4966fb10214263b0685ebb40437635c4072a4eed5dba9c43ec9f8db3896f1fb9"}],"package_integrity":[{"filename":"dolyame-ui-controlgroup-35.8.1.tgz","hashes":{"sha1":"3c31e1e99d91592ca187a50d0f0bec07504cd4d6","sha512_sri":"sha512-pFxknm73xklwvI1kxnVdqhLwxRWY6MOS+qp1P5rfz0rc71KpF9ml+2zt5qZIbUvRqmdCFvq55bp7gU+cQH9N2A=="}}]},"source":"https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/main/osv/malicious/npm/dolyame-ui-controlgroup/MAL-2026-13563.json","cwes":[{"description":"The product contains code that appears to be malicious in nature.","name":"Embedded Malicious Code","cweId":"CWE-506"}]}}],"schema_version":"1.8.0","credits":[{"name":"Amazon Inspector","contact":["inspector-research@amazon.com"],"type":"FINDER"}]}
