{"id":"MAL-2026-13194","summary":"Malicious code in dolyame-ui-textarea (npm)","details":"\n---\n_-= Per source details. Do not edit below this line.=-_\n\n## Source: amazon-inspector (24932ddb1e2cd6672b95aae062c330f9aec9d68ee293488d54d195fbbf0acc52)\nThe package's main entry unconditionally requires./_loader.js on load. _loader.js assembles mirror hostnames from split string arrays to build a set of *.workers.dev endpoints (e.g. oob-worker.cf10x-*.workers.dev), fetches a platform-specific binary over https.get, and falls back to base64-chunked DNS TXT records under *.dl.wel1.ru subdomains when the HTTP mirrors are unavailable. The fetched bytes are written to /var/tmp or %TEMP% under masquerade filenames (.cache_\u003crand\u003e on Unix, dotnet_diag_\u003crand\u003e.exe on Windows), chmodded to 0755, and spawned detached via /bin/sh -c or cmd.exe with stdio ignored and unref(). Environment variables named DISABLE_TELEMETRY / ANALYTICS_OPT_OUT / DO_NOT_TRACK and a cache filename.analytics_state disguise the dropper as telemetry. A second variant of the same dropper (base64 chunk assembly, chmod 0755 via dynamic property name fs['chmod'+'Sync'], detached /bin/sh spawn) is bundled in lib/telemetry.js under an 'analytics SDK' cover story. The package name resembles a UI component library but ships no textarea functionality; its only on-load behavior is the drop-and-execute chain.\n","modified":"2026-08-05T15:53:07.231023875Z","published":"2026-08-05T15:07:16Z","database_specific":{"malicious-packages-origins":[{"versions":["35.3.4"],"id":"IN-MAL-2026-015574","import_time":"2026-08-05T15:19:58.634486428Z","modified_time":"2026-08-05T15:07:16Z","sha256":"24932ddb1e2cd6672b95aae062c330f9aec9d68ee293488d54d195fbbf0acc52","source":"amazon-inspector"}]},"references":[{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://www.npmjs.com/package/dolyame-ui-textarea/v/35.3.4"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"dolyame-ui-textarea","ecosystem":"npm","purl":"pkg:npm/dolyame-ui-textarea"},"versions":["35.3.4"],"database_specific":{"cwes":[{"cweId":"CWE-506","description":"The product contains code that appears to be malicious in nature.","name":"Embedded Malicious Code"}],"indicators":{"evidence_files":[{"sha256":"ad405e7a7969436770821ceb515bc66dee17deb08a180e7ee1f442128b7fed2d","tlsh":"efa1849a16a6701887b09be487175416f65be6633381c2d4fb9ca5881fb312483f2efc","path":"_loader.js"},{"tlsh":"46835055566a242186b2b368df234107ff3685272643429dbafc82dc1fbd72092a5ffc","path":"lib/telemetry.js","sha256":"2de278370a6fa0e5e9715374ea0f02061b8953c31a55fb4e5a9852832810c850"}],"package_integrity":[{"filename":"dolyame-ui-textarea-35.3.4.tgz","hashes":{"sha1":"54f130069c7b2cf52ef4e0b925a3ace69f1dc656","sha512_sri":"sha512-+TRJ3ipiCZxXwsiySzvnRWzQjfredRtds0apaHHMot3O9l0GgrfoZreLsRNuez1gohrs1YPJkb39FKl4px7EiQ=="}}]},"source":"https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/main/osv/malicious/npm/dolyame-ui-textarea/MAL-2026-13194.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.8.0","credits":[{"name":"Amazon Inspector","contact":["inspector-research@amazon.com"],"type":"FINDER"}]}
