{"id":"MAL-2026-13171","summary":"Malicious code in dolyame-ui-notification (npm)","details":"\n---\n_-= Per source details. Do not edit below this line.=-_\n\n## Source: amazon-inspector (27d450fda6c199002bb4eb20b3bf624e31393ae3ed30e9a36fce17507472b962)\nPackage advertises itself as a UI notification toolkit but its main entry require()s./_compat.js, which on load randomly selects a destination from four obfuscated Cloudflare workers.dev hosts (oob-worker.cf9-9b3.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf102-baf.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf103-070.workers.dev, oob-worker.cf101-adf.workers.dev) reconstructed at runtime from split string arrays, with a DNS-TXT fallback channel over *.dl.wel1.ru (sdk./ext./pkg./net.dl.wel1.ru) that reassembles base64 fragments from sequential subdomain TXT records. It downloads a platform-specific native binary (/pkg/package, /pkg/package-arm64, /pkg/loader_mac, /pkg/package.exe), writes it to /var/tmp/.cache_\u003chex\u003e or %TEMP%\\dotnet_diag_\u003chex\u003e.exe under a cover-story filename, chmods 0755, and spawns it detached via /bin/sh or cmd. The runtime-reconstructed destinations, DNS-TXT covert channel, hidden staging paths with diagnostic-tool-lookalike filenames, and mismatch between the declared UI purpose and the fetch-and-execute behavior identify this as a supply-chain dropper rather than legitimate functionality.\n","modified":"2026-08-05T15:52:56.638788985Z","published":"2026-08-05T15:13:00Z","database_specific":{"malicious-packages-origins":[{"id":"IN-MAL-2026-015611","import_time":"2026-08-05T15:20:00.209185001Z","modified_time":"2026-08-05T15:13:00Z","sha256":"27d450fda6c199002bb4eb20b3bf624e31393ae3ed30e9a36fce17507472b962","source":"amazon-inspector","versions":["35.5.4"]}]},"references":[{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://www.npmjs.com/package/dolyame-ui-notification/v/35.5.4"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"dolyame-ui-notification","ecosystem":"npm","purl":"pkg:npm/dolyame-ui-notification"},"versions":["35.5.4"],"database_specific":{"indicators":{"evidence_files":[{"sha256":"0143f51b2ce4a1229fdd819bac45a76a0dd9eee298d0b9a758920c291cd33bf7","tlsh":"c2a1859a22aa711847b097e486174416f65bf66333c0c6d4fb9ca9945fb212482b2efc","path":"_compat.js"}],"package_integrity":[{"filename":"dolyame-ui-notification-35.5.4.tgz","hashes":{"sha1":"24db3dbdbab67be585d431cd6b443f10bf7306b6","sha512_sri":"sha512-8cV7DxBVlSw4zowgleFJ39Odk0BW/m8zoIGLTWcW+Io0rodlkw1P5zicUfqyksu3cNAwI0JopVICDMR8HTas3w=="}}]},"cwes":[{"description":"The product contains code that appears to be malicious in nature.","name":"Embedded Malicious Code","cweId":"CWE-506"}],"source":"https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/main/osv/malicious/npm/dolyame-ui-notification/MAL-2026-13171.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.8.0","credits":[{"name":"Amazon Inspector","contact":["inspector-research@amazon.com"],"type":"FINDER"}]}
