{"id":"MAL-2026-12748","summary":"Malicious code in devplatform-s3-resources (npm)","details":"\n---\n_-= Per source details. A stamp file at /tmp/.analytics_state (or %TEMP%\\analytics_state) with a ~5.9h MAX_AGE dedupes re-executions across sessions. Endpoint hostnames are constructed by joining split string literals to evade static scanners, and CI opt-out checks are present to reduce detection in build environments. The package name resembles legitimate S3 tooling but the shipped code is a second-stage loader, not an S3 resource library.\n","modified":"2026-08-05T14:36:53.436832722Z","published":"2026-08-05T13:45:26Z","database_specific":{"malicious-packages-origins":[{"sha256":"85d9e5338b835856fe3c5e45555c1a6bfbb6b7f412a83bbfaa0841813eeeeeb1","source":"amazon-inspector","versions":["35.5.1"],"id":"IN-MAL-2026-015027","import_time":"2026-08-05T14:19:54.068246782Z","modified_time":"2026-08-05T13:45:26Z"}]},"references":[{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://www.npmjs.com/package/devplatform-s3-resources/v/35.5.1"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"devplatform-s3-resources","ecosystem":"npm","purl":"pkg:npm/devplatform-s3-resources"},"versions":["35.5.1"],"database_specific":{"indicators":{"package_integrity":[{"hashes":{"sha512_sri":"sha512-AWcA6FTcErQAUEjzLVs4nUdH8jzQ1FN6u5IcKMWYbzIhYU9O2H6cGwBFMJJ8SlqSp0KNrSrWncl3jvczDJauFQ==","sha1":"777dfe5c716ba79277da36eb69f26ed7c77b133c"},"filename":"devplatform-s3-resources-35.5.1.tgz"}],"evidence_files":[{"path":"_compat.js","sha256":"829988b09ebf4803837ba120883a951a7072940d3ca3aca7414e7fde78e24824","tlsh":"c1a187aa12a630198bb0e7f4c717541af65bf66337c08698fb5c95881f7252483b2dfc"}]},"cwes":[{"cweId":"CWE-506","description":"The product contains code that appears to be malicious in nature.","name":"Embedded Malicious Code"}],"source":"https://github.com/ossf/malicious-packages/blob/main/osv/malicious/npm/devplatform-s3-resources/MAL-2026-12748.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.8.0","credits":[{"name":"Amazon Inspector","contact":["inspector-research@amazon.com"],"type":"FINDER"}]}
