{"id":"JLSEC-2026-1100","details":"libheif is a HEIF and AVIF file format decoder and encoder. In versions 1.21.2 and prior, the inline mask parsing code in `libheif/region.cc` contains an integer overflow. Both `width` and `height` are `unsigned int` (32-bit) values parsed from the HEIF file. Their product can exceed `UINT32_MAX`, wrapping to a small value before the division by 8. This causes an undersized buffer allocation, leading to out-of-bounds memory access when the mask data is later interpreted as a `width x height` bitmap. Version 1.22.0 patches the issue.","modified":"2026-08-03T13:30:04.072381125Z","published":"2026-08-03T13:28:07.759Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-47714","EUVD-2026-46434"],"database_specific":{"license":"CC-BY-4.0","sources":[{"id":"CVE-2026-47714","imported":"2026-08-03T06:12:12.896Z","modified":"2026-07-30T15:07:07.980Z","published":"2026-07-21T21:16:51.617Z","url":"https://services.nvd.nist.gov/rest/json/cves/2.0?cveId=CVE-2026-47714","html_url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-47714","database_specific":{"status":"Analyzed"}},{"imported":"2026-08-03T06:12:13.008Z","modified":"2026-07-22T13:37:10Z","published":"2026-07-21T21:04:06Z","url":"https://euvdservices.enisa.europa.eu/api/enisaid?id=EUVD-2026-46434","html_url":"https://euvd.enisa.europa.eu/vulnerability/EUVD-2026-46434","id":"EUVD-2026-46434"}]},"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://github.com/strukturag/libheif/security/advisories/GHSA-h4wm-6wwf-qvhx"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"libheif_jll","ecosystem":"Julia","purl":"pkg:julia/libheif_jll?uuid=a13778fd-9a17-58b4-b5a0-4b4a242815a9"},"ranges":[{"type":"SEMVER","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"1.22.2000+0"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/JuliaLang/SecurityAdvisories.jl/tree/generated/osv/2026/JLSEC-2026-1100.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:L/I:N/A:H"}]}
