{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2026-26104","details":"A flaw was found in the udisks storage management daemon that allows unprivileged users to back up LUKS encryption headers without authorization. The issue occurs because a privileged D-Bus method responsible for exporting encryption metadata does not perform a policy check. As a result, sensitive cryptographic metadata can be read and written to attacker-controlled locations. This weakens the confidentiality guarantees of encrypted storage volumes.","modified":"2026-09-14T17:03:24.375895265Z","published":"2026-02-25T11:16:03.193Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-26104"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2026-26104"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"udisks2","ecosystem":"Debian:14","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/udisks2?arch=source&distro=forky"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"2.11.1-1"}]}],"versions":["2.10.1-12.1","2.10.90-1","2.10.90-2","2.10.90-3","2.10.90-3.1","2.10.91-1","2.11.0-1","2.11.0-2"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-26104.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N"}]}
