{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2026-14570","details":"Crypt::DSA versions before 1.22 for Perl draw the DSA signing nonce and private key from a biased random generator, leading to private-key recovery.  \"Crypt::DSA::Util::makerandom forces the high bit of every value it returns to obtain an exactly N-bit integer for prime search. The signing nonce and the private key are drawn from makerandom. Because the high bit is always set, the result is not uniform: its top bit is fixed, producing insecure values.\"  An attacker who collects a modest number of signatures under an affected key, together with the public key, can recover the private key with a lattice attack.  Keys used to sign with an affected version should be considered compromised and new keys should be generated.","modified":"2026-09-14T17:02:46.290388574Z","published":"2026-07-05T02:17:40.190Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-14570"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2026-14570"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"libcrypt-dsa-perl","ecosystem":"Debian:12","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/libcrypt-dsa-perl?arch=source&distro=bookworm"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"}]}],"versions":["1.17-5","1.19-1","1.20-1","1.21-1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-14570.json"}},{"package":{"name":"libcrypt-dsa-perl","ecosystem":"Debian:13","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/libcrypt-dsa-perl?arch=source&distro=trixie"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"}]}],"versions":["1.19-1","1.20-1","1.21-1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-14570.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:N/A:N"}]}
