{"id":"DEBIAN-CVE-2026-119339","details":"Tesseract is an open source OCR engine. Prior to 5.5.4, WeightMatrix::DeSerialize trusts a mode byte from a traineddata LSTM network and calls WeightMatrix::DeSerializeOld when kDoubleFlag is clear. In default FAST_FLOAT builds, DeSerializeOld invokes ASSERT_HOST instead of returning an error, so loading a crafted model through TessBaseAPI::Init terminates the process and causes denial of service. This issue is fixed in version 5.5.4.","modified":"2026-11-03T09:47:35.831548222Z","published":"2026-10-30T21:16:51.940Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-119339"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2026-119339"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"tesseract","ecosystem":"Debian:12","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/tesseract?arch=source&distro=bookworm"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"}]}],"versions":["5.3.0-2","5.3.3-1","5.3.4-1","5.3.4-1.1","5.3.4-1.2","5.3.4-1.3","5.3.4-1.4","5.5.0-1","5.5.0-1.1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-119339.json"}},{"package":{"name":"tesseract","ecosystem":"Debian:13","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/tesseract?arch=source&distro=trixie"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"}]}],"versions":["5.5.0-1","5.5.0-1.1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-119339.json"}},{"package":{"name":"tesseract","ecosystem":"Debian:14","purl":"pkg:deb/debian/tesseract?arch=source&distro=forky"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"}]}],"versions":["5.5.0-1","5.5.0-1.1"],"ecosystem_specific":{"urgency":"not yet assigned"},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/debian-osv/debian-cve-osv/DEBIAN-CVE-2026-119339.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.2","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}
