{"id":"CVE-2026-98386","summary":"scsi: qla2xxx: Use memset_io() to clear QLAFX00 request ring slot","details":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nscsi: qla2xxx: Use memset_io() to clear QLAFX00 request ring slot\n\nFor QLAFX00 the request ring is ioremapped device I/O memory\n(ha-\u003eiobase + req_que_off), not DMA-coherent RAM, which is why the rest\nof the FX00 path accesses it through memcpy_toio() and the wrt_reg_*\nhelpers. __qla2x00_alloc_iocbs() however zeroed the producer slot with a\nplain memset(). On architectures such as ARM64 a regular memset() may\nemit unaligned or block-zeroing instructions (e.g. DC ZVA) that are\ninvalid on Device memory, leading to a synchronous external abort.\n\nUse memset_io() to clear the slot for QLAFX00, matching the I/O\naccessors used elsewhere on this ring. Other adapters keep the plain\nmemset() on their DMA-coherent rings. The zero-fill is retained for FX00\nbecause its IOCB builders (e.g. qlafx00_fxdisc_iocb()) copy only part of\nthe entry and rely on the unused tail being pre-zeroed.","modified":"2026-10-15T02:47:45.201408231Z","published":"2026-10-14T13:25:50.908Z","database_specific":{"cna_assigner":"Linux","osv_generated_from":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/98xxx/CVE-2026-98386.json"},"references":[{"type":"PACKAGE","url":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/53eb96c244d150dfb8cc4b5b0492ab53755f3701"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/626e44f3d8a924a97a3848a9fd45833947e081e9"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/6ee6dfd922fafd508f6bde16de30dd2db796b7a7"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://git.kernel.org/stable/c/e41d28d9a242c4005b7d01a7ee7769405a6a2c2e"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/98xxx/CVE-2026-98386.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-98386"}],"affected":[{"ranges":[{"type":"GIT","repo":"https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux.git","events":[{"introduced":"8ae6d9c7eb1004bc134813287010d57a863ba13b"},{"fixed":"53eb96c244d150dfb8cc4b5b0492ab53755f3701"},{"fixed":"6ee6dfd922fafd508f6bde16de30dd2db796b7a7"},{"fixed":"e41d28d9a242c4005b7d01a7ee7769405a6a2c2e"},{"fixed":"626e44f3d8a924a97a3848a9fd45833947e081e9"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2026-98386.json"}},{"package":{"name":"Kernel","ecosystem":"Linux"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"3.10.0"},{"fixed":"6.12.112"}]},{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"6.13.0"},{"fixed":"6.18.53"}]},{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"6.19.0"},{"fixed":"7.2.7"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2026-98386.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
