{"id":"CVE-2026-32119","summary":"OpenEMR has Stored DOM XSS via SearchHighlight text-node reconstruction on Custom Report page","details":"OpenEMR is a free and open source electronic health records and medical practice management application. Prior to 8.0.0.2, DOM-based stored XSS in the jQuery SearchHighlight plugin (`library/js/SearchHighlight.js`) allows an authenticated user with encounter form write access to inject arbitrary JavaScript that executes in another clinician's browser session when they use the search/find feature on the Custom Report page. The plugin reverses server-side HTML entity encoding by reading decoded text from DOM text nodes, concatenating it into a raw HTML string, and passing it to jQuery's `$()` constructor for HTML parsing. Version 8.0.0.2 fixes the issue.","aliases":["GHSA-q283-5j7f-r6hp"],"modified":"2026-04-10T05:42:19.316182Z","published":"2026-03-19T19:41:47.881Z","database_specific":{"cna_assigner":"GitHub_M","osv_generated_from":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/32xxx/CVE-2026-32119.json","cwe_ids":["CWE-79"]},"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2026/32xxx/CVE-2026-32119.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/openemr/openemr/security/advisories/GHSA-q283-5j7f-r6hp"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-32119"},{"type":"FIX","url":"https://github.com/openemr/openemr/commit/70a41122c6d75ebcd219ba2a2535e93a6c188151"}],"affected":[{"ranges":[{"type":"GIT","repo":"https://github.com/openemr/openemr","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"d7ddb2dcb11332944c1e193ae0ac32eabe439f7c"}]}],"versions":["v2_7_2","v2_7_2-rc1","v2_7_2-rc2","v2_7_3-rc1","v2_8_0","v2_8_1","v2_8_2","v2_8_3","v2_9_0","v3_0_0","v3_0_1","v8_0_0","v8_0_0_1"],"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2026-32119.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:H/PR:L/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N"}]}
