{"id":"CVE-2024-0787","summary":"Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts in phpipam/phpipam","details":"phpIPAM version 1.5.1 contains a vulnerability where an attacker can bypass the IP block mechanism to brute force passwords for users by using the 'X-Forwarded-For' header. The issue lies in the 'get_user_ip()' function in 'class.Common.php' at lines 1044 and 1045, where the presence of the 'X-Forwarded-For' header is checked and used instead of 'REMOTE_ADDR'. This vulnerability allows attackers to perform brute force attacks on user accounts, including the admin account. The issue is fixed in version 1.7.0.","modified":"2026-08-12T03:51:34.384672995Z","published":"2024-11-15T10:57:05.410Z","database_specific":{"cna_assigner":"@huntr_ai","cwe_ids":["CWE-307"],"osv_generated_from":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2024/0xxx/CVE-2024-0787.json"},"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://huntr.com/bounties/840cb582-1feb-43ab-9cc4-e4b5a63c5bab"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/CVEProject/cvelistV5/tree/main/cves/2024/0xxx/CVE-2024-0787.json"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2024-0787"},{"type":"FIX","url":"https://github.com/phpipam/phpipam/commit/55c2056068be9f1359e967fcff64db6b7f4d00b5"}],"affected":[{"ranges":[{"type":"GIT","repo":"https://github.com/phpipam/phpipam","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"3271d956a581a00a7d4080426d5ca8f2c4b06102"},{"fixed":"55c2056068be9f1359e967fcff64db6b7f4d00b5"}],"database_specific":{"cpe":"cpe:2.3:a:phpipam:phpipam:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","extracted_events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"1.7.0"}],"source":["CPE_RANGE","REFERENCES"]}}],"versions":["v1.6.0","v1.5.0","v1.3.2","v1.3.0","v1.2.0_beta2","v1.19.008","v1.16.003"],"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2024-0787.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:L"}]}
