{"id":"CVE-2020-1700","details":"A flaw was found in the way the Ceph RGW Beast front-end handles unexpected disconnects. An authenticated attacker can abuse this flaw by making multiple disconnect attempts resulting in a permanent leak of a socket connection by radosgw. This flaw could lead to a denial of service condition by pile up of CLOSE_WAIT sockets, eventually leading to the exhaustion of available resources, preventing legitimate users from connecting to the system.","modified":"2026-03-15T21:57:25.883806Z","published":"2020-02-07T21:15:10.433Z","related":["CGA-2f66-grqv-3rw8","SUSE-SU-2020:0296-1","openSUSE-SU-2020:0187-1"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://lists.debian.org/debian-lts-announce/2023/10/msg00034.html"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-02/msg00009.html"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://usn.ubuntu.com/4304-1/"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=CVE-2020-1700"}],"affected":[{"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2020-1700.json","unresolved_ranges":[{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"4.2"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"15.1"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"18.04"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"19.10"}]}]}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}
