{"id":"CVE-2019-18932","details":"log.c in Squid Analysis Report Generator (sarg) through 2.3.11 allows local privilege escalation. By default, it uses a fixed temporary directory /tmp/sarg. As the root user, sarg creates this directory or reuses an existing one in an insecure manner. An attacker can pre-create the directory, and place symlinks in it (after winning a /tmp/sarg/denied.int_unsort race condition). The outcome will be corrupted or newly created files in privileged file system locations.","modified":"2026-03-15T22:31:07.982374Z","published":"2020-01-21T18:15:12.890Z","related":["openSUSE-SU-2020:0117-1","openSUSE-SU-2020:0140-1"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2020/01/20/6"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://www.openwall.com/lists/oss-security/2020/01/27/1"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://seclists.org/oss-sec/2020/q1/23"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security.gentoo.org/glsa/202007-32"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://sourceforge.net/projects/sarg/"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-01/msg00051.html"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse-security-announce/2020-01/msg00063.html"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://bugzilla.suse.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1150554"}],"affected":[{"database_specific":{"unresolved_ranges":[{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"2.3.11"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"15.0-sp1"}]},{"events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"15.1"}]}],"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2019-18932.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:L/AC:H/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H"}]}
