{"id":"CVE-2019-16772","details":"The serialize-to-js NPM package before version 3.0.1 is vulnerable to Cross-site Scripting (XSS). It does not properly mitigate against unsafe characters in serialized regular expressions. This vulnerability is not affected on Node.js environment since Node.js's implementation of RegExp.prototype.toString() backslash-escapes all forward slashes in regular expressions. If serialized data of regular expression objects are used in an environment other than Node.js, it is affected by this vulnerability.","aliases":["GHSA-3fjq-93xj-3f3f"],"modified":"2026-07-09T02:49:34.670728Z","published":"2019-12-07T00:15:11.090Z","references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/commenthol/serialize-to-js/security/advisories/GHSA-3fjq-93xj-3f3f"},{"type":"FIX","url":"https://github.com/commenthol/serialize-to-js/commit/181d7d583ae5293cd47cc99b14ad13352875f3e3"}],"affected":[{"ranges":[{"type":"GIT","repo":"https://github.com/commenthol/serialize-to-js","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"89c82a8d993c122834597f620c50c11a3798500d"},{"fixed":"181d7d583ae5293cd47cc99b14ad13352875f3e3"}],"database_specific":{"cpe":"cpe:2.3:a:serialize-to-js_project:serialize-to-js:*:*:*:*:*:node.js:*:*","extracted_events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"3.0.1"}],"source":["CPE_RANGE","REFERENCES"]}}],"versions":["v3.0.0","v2.0.1","v2.0.0","v1.2.2","v1.2.1","v1.2.0","v1.1.2","v1.1.1","v1.1.0","v1.0.0","v0.5.0","v0.4.0","v0.3.1","v0.3.0","v0.2.0","v0.1.2","v0.1.1","v0.1.0"],"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/osv-output/CVE-2019-16772.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:C/C:L/I:L/A:N"}]}
