{"id":"BIT-keycloak-2026-1609","summary":"Org.keycloak/keycloak-quarkus-server: keycloak: unauthorized access via jwt authorization grant with disabled users","details":"A flaw was found in Keycloak. When the JSON Web Token (JWT) authorization grant preview feature is enabled and a user account is disabled, Keycloak fails to validate the user’s disabled status during JWT authorization grant processing. A remote attacker with low privileges can exploit this improper access control vulnerability by presenting a valid assertion token from an external identity provider to obtain a JWT for a disabled user. This allows unauthorized access to sensitive resources.","aliases":["CVE-2026-1609"],"modified":"2026-09-08T08:48:06.699150632Z","published":"2026-08-25T11:41:44.613Z","database_specific":{"cpes":["cpe:2.3:a:redhat:build_of_keycloak:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*","cpe:2.3:a:keycloak:keycloak:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*"],"severity":"High"},"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://access.redhat.com/security/cve/CVE-2026-1609"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2435257"},{"type":"REPORT","url":"https://github.com/keycloak/keycloak/issues/46144"},{"type":"ARTICLE","url":"https://github.com/keycloak/keycloak/releases/tag/26.5.3"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-1609"},{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security.access.redhat.com/data/csaf/v2/vex/2026/cve-2026-1609.json"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"keycloak","ecosystem":"Bitnami","purl":"pkg:bitnami/keycloak"},"ranges":[{"type":"SEMVER","events":[{"introduced":"26.5.2"},{"fixed":"26.5.3"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/bitnami/vulndb/tree/main/data/keycloak/BIT-keycloak-2026-1609.json"},"severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N"}]}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
