{"id":"BIT-envoy-2026-47207","summary":"Envoy crashes if multiple unexpected ext_proc responses are packed into one gRPC message","details":"Envoy is an open source edge and service proxy designed for cloud-native applications. From 1.34.0 until 1.35.13, 1.36.9, 1.37.5, and 1.38.3, Envoy crashes if an ext_proc server sends a single gRPC message containing multiple, specially crafted ProcessingResponse messages. This can occur when the first response in the batch causes the gRPC stream object to be destroyed, leading to a use-after-free error when Envoy attempts to process subsequent responses in the same gRPC message. This vulnerability is fixed in 1.35.13, 1.36.9, 1.37.5, and 1.38.3.","aliases":["CVE-2026-47207","GHSA-68cv-hq5f-g6xv"],"modified":"2026-09-08T08:47:29.051935030Z","published":"2026-06-29T05:40:39.900Z","database_specific":{"cpes":["cpe:2.3:a:envoyproxy:envoy:*:*:*:*:*:*:*:*"],"severity":"Medium"},"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://github.com/envoyproxy/envoy/security/advisories/GHSA-68cv-hq5f-g6xv"},{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-47207"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"envoy","ecosystem":"Bitnami","purl":"pkg:bitnami/envoy"},"ranges":[{"type":"SEMVER","events":[{"introduced":"1.34.0"},{"fixed":"1.35.13"},{"introduced":"1.36.0"},{"fixed":"1.36.9"},{"introduced":"1.37.0"},{"fixed":"1.37.5"},{"introduced":"1.38.0"},{"fixed":"1.38.3"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/bitnami/vulndb/tree/main/data/envoy/BIT-envoy-2026-47207.json"},"severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:L/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:N/A:H"}]}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
