{"id":"AZL-99558","summary":"CVE-2026-80786 affecting package kernel 6.6.150.1-1","details":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nfbdev: Wrap user-invoked calls to fb_set_var() in helper\n\nHandle fbcon during display updates in fb_set_var_from_user(). Check\nwith fbcon if the mode change is possible, update hardware state and\nfinally update fbcon. Update all callers.\n\nOnly the FBIOPUT_VSCREENINFO ioctl currently does all steps. Other\nmode-changes callers in sysfs and driver code are missing fbcon-related\nsteps.\n\nWith the new helper, ps3fb and sh_mobile_lcdcfb no longer maintain\nfbcon state themselves.","modified":"2026-09-05T14:17:04.559099916Z","published":"2026-09-04T16:18:04Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-80786"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-80786"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"kernel","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/kernel"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"6.6.150.1-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-99558.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
