{"id":"AZL-95565","summary":"CVE-2026-73070 affecting package vim 9.2.0782-1","details":"Vim is an open source, command line text editor. Prior to 9.2.0842, the socket server backend in src/socketserver.c accepts unbounded client connections in socketserver_accept(), causing descriptors to overflow fd_set structures in src/channel.c and fixed-size struct pollfd arrays in src/os_unix.c, which allows a local process that can connect to the server socket to corrupt stack memory or terminate the Vim server. This issue is fixed in version 9.2.0842.","modified":"2026-08-31T05:26:27Z","published":"2026-08-11T16:17:38Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-73070"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-73070"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"vim","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/vim"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"9.2.0782-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-95565.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
