{"id":"AZL-86837","summary":"CVE-2026-6637 affecting package postgresql for versions less than 16.14-1","details":"Stack buffer overflow in PostgreSQL module \"refint\" allows an unprivileged database user to execute arbitrary code as the operating system user running the database.  A distinct attack is possible if the application declares a user-controlled column as a \"refint\" cascade primary key and facilitates user-controlled updates to that column.  In that case, a SQL injection allows a primary key update value provider to execute arbitrary SQL as the database user performing the primary key update.  Versions before PostgreSQL 18.4, 17.10, 16.14, 15.18, and 14.23 are affected.","modified":"2026-08-28T17:48:00.259625669Z","published":"2026-05-14T14:16:25Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-6637"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-6637"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"postgresql","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/postgresql"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"16.14-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-86837.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
