{"id":"AZL-86084","summary":"CVE-2026-23631 affecting package valkey for versions less than 8.0.9-1","details":"Redis is an in-memory data structure store. In all versions of redis-server with Lua scripting, an authenticated attacker can exploit the master-replica synchronization mechanism to trigger a use-after-free on replicas where replica-read-only is disabled or can be disabled, which may lead to remote code execution. A workaround is to prevent users from executing Lua scripts or avoid using replicas where replica-read-only is disabled. This is patched in version 8.6.3.","modified":"2026-09-01T05:28:09Z","published":"2026-05-05T17:17:03Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-23631"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-23631"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"valkey","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/valkey"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"8.0.9-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-86084.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
