{"id":"AZL-25584","summary":"CVE-2023-27478 affecting package libmemcached-awesome for versions less than 1.1.4-1","details":"libmemcached-awesome is an open source C/C++ client library and tools for the memcached server. `libmemcached` could return data for a previously requested key, if that previous request timed out due to a low `POLL_TIMEOUT`. This issue has been addressed in version 1.1.4. Users are advised to upgrade. There are several ways to workaround or lower the probability of this bug affecting a given deployment. 1: use a reasonably high `POLL_TIMEOUT` setting, like the default. 2: use separate libmemcached connections for unrelated data. 3: do not re-use libmemcached connections in an unknown state.","modified":"2026-04-21T04:23:06.047529Z","published":"2023-03-07T18:15:09Z","upstream":["CVE-2023-27478"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2023-27478"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"libmemcached-awesome","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:2","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/libmemcached-awesome"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"1.1.4-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-25584.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.7.5","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N"}]}
