{"id":"AZL-112406","summary":"CVE-2026-118768 affecting package botan2 2.14.0-2","details":"Botan is a C++ cryptography library. From 1.11.34 until 3.13.0, the botan ocsp_check command requested an OCSP response from a certificate's Authority Information Access URL without verifying the response signature or authorizing the signer. A malicious responder or on-path attacker could return a matching and timely GOOD response with an empty, invalid, or unauthorized signature, causing a revoked certificate to produce exit status 0 and OCSP check OK output. Only the command-line interface is affected. This issue is fixed in version 3.13.0.","modified":"2026-11-02T14:18:11.708625947Z","published":"2026-10-29T18:17:28Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-118768"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-118768"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"botan2","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/botan2"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"2.14.0-2"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-112406.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.2"}
