{"id":"AZL-111248","summary":"CVE-2026-99132 affecting package kernel 6.6.157.1-1","details":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nxfs: don't hold buffer locks across sync transaction commit in xfs_sync_sb_buf\n\nxfs_sync_sb_buf() holds sb/rtsb buffer locks across a synchronous\nxfs_trans_commit(), which flushes the CIL push workqueue internally.\nIf shutdown occurs during the CIL push, xfs_buf_item_unpin() needs to\nlock these buffers to fail them, causing a deadlock:\n\n  setlabel:          holds buf lock -\u003e flush_workqueue(xfs-cil)\n  CIL push worker:   xfs_buf_item_unpin -\u003e xfs_buf_lock(same buf)\n\nRemove the xfs_trans_bhold() calls so that commit releases the buffer\nlocks normally.  After the sync commit, re-acquire the buffers via\nmp-\u003em_sb_bp / mp-\u003em_rtsb_bp for the on-disk writeback.","modified":"2026-10-29T14:16:53.991178017Z","published":"2026-10-28T11:17:33Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-99132"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-99132"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"kernel","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/kernel"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"6.6.157.1-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-111248.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.2"}
