{"id":"AZL-110945","summary":"CVE-2026-99058 affecting package kernel 6.6.157.1-1","details":"In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:\n\nworkqueue: Fix NULL current_pwq deref in chained work check\n\ncurrent_wq_worker() only tells us that %current is a kworker. It does\nnot guarantee that the worker is currently executing a work item, as\nworker-\u003ecurrent_pwq is populated only while process_one_work() is running\nthe work function.\n\nis_chained_work() can be reached while queueing on a draining or\ndestroying workqueue. If a kworker outside work-item execution reaches\nthat path, current_wq_worker() returns a worker but worker-\u003ecurrent_pwq is\nNULL, and the chained-work test can fault before it emits the intended\nwarning.\n\nGuard the chained-work test with worker-\u003ecurrent_pwq. A kworker without\ncurrent_pwq is not executing work on the target workqueue, so the helper\nshould return false and let the draining/destroying warning fire.","modified":"2026-10-25T05:30:37Z","published":"2026-10-23T13:17:29Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-99058"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-99058"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"kernel","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/kernel"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"6.6.157.1-1"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-110945.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0"}
