{"id":"AZL-110115","summary":"CVE-2026-113725 affecting package python-virtualenv 20.36.1-9","details":"virtualenv is a tool for creating isolated virtual python environments. Prior to 21.14.7, the bash activate script escapes the environment name for only one of the two passes bash makes over PS1, so a backslash in the name undoes the escaping and a name containing \\$(...) runs as commands in the user's shell each time bash draws the prompt. This issue is fixed in version 21.14.7.","modified":"2026-11-01T14:17:31.212278733Z","published":"2026-10-20T20:17:19Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-113725"],"references":[{"type":"WEB","url":"https://nvd.nist.gov/vuln/detail/CVE-2026-113725"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"python-virtualenv","ecosystem":"Azure Linux:3","purl":"pkg:rpm/azure-linux/python-virtualenv"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"last_affected":"20.36.1-9"}]}],"database_specific":{"source":"https://github.com/microsoft/AzureLinuxVulnerabilityData/blob/main/osv/AZL-110115.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.2"}
