{"id":"ALPINE-CVE-2026-49295","details":"libde265 is an open source implementation of the h.265 video codec. Prior to version 1.0.20, a crafted H.265 bitstream can cause an out-of-bounds array write in `decoder_context::process_reference_picture_set()` (`libde265/decctx.cc:1376`). The root cause is a missing aggregate bound check on predicted short-term reference picture set entries. Individual list sizes are validated, but the combined count after predicted RPS construction can exceed the 16-entry `PocStFoll` array, writing at index 16. Version 1.0.20 patches the issue.","modified":"2026-10-23T18:30:02.493800110Z","published":"2026-06-19T21:17:01.590Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-49295"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security.alpinelinux.org/vuln/CVE-2026-49295"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"libde265","ecosystem":"Alpine:v3.24","purl":"pkg:apk/alpine/libde265?arch=source"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"1.1.3-r0"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/alpine/ALPINE-CVE-2026-49295.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:H"}]}
