{"id":"ALPINE-CVE-2026-34582","details":"Botan is a C++ cryptography library. Prior to version 3.11.1, the TLS 1.3 implementation allowed ApplicationData records to be processed prior to the Finished message being received. A server which is attempting to enforce client authentication via certificates can by bypassed by a client which entirely omits Certificate, CertificateVerify, and the Finished message and instead sends application data records. This vulnerability is fixed in 3.11.1.","modified":"2026-09-14T16:18:08.164379666Z","published":"2026-04-07T22:16:22.810Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-34582"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security.alpinelinux.org/vuln/CVE-2026-34582"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"botan3","ecosystem":"Alpine:v3.24","purl":"pkg:apk/alpine/botan3?arch=source"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"0"},{"fixed":"3.11.1-r0"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/alpine/ALPINE-CVE-2026-34582.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.0","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:N"}]}
