{"id":"ALPINE-CVE-2026-10098","details":"OCSP CertID serial-number length-confusion in wolfSSL_OCSP_resp_find_status allows a same-issuer SingleResponse whose serial is a prefix of the target serial to be reported as the revocation status of a different certificate. The lookup compared serial-number bytes without first requiring the two serial numbers to be of equal length, so a SingleResponse for one certificate (same issuer) whose serial is a prefix of the target's serial would match, returning the wrong certificate's status. The fix requires the serial lengths to be equal before comparing the serial bytes.","modified":"2026-11-03T06:32:52.333204149Z","published":"2026-06-25T22:16:59.780Z","upstream":["CVE-2026-10098"],"references":[{"type":"ADVISORY","url":"https://security.alpinelinux.org/vuln/CVE-2026-10098"}],"affected":[{"package":{"name":"wolfssl","ecosystem":"Alpine:v3.24","purl":"pkg:apk/alpine/wolfssl?arch=source"},"ranges":[{"type":"ECOSYSTEM","events":[{"introduced":"4.6.0"},{"fixed":"5.9.2-r0"}]}],"ecosystem_specific":{},"database_specific":{"source":"https://storage.googleapis.com/cve-osv-conversion/alpine/ALPINE-CVE-2026-10098.json"}}],"schema_version":"1.9.2","severity":[{"type":"CVSS_V3","score":"CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:N/I:L/A:N"}]}
